Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joey Jimerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smelly Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimerson comes into the arena with The Call of Ktulhu blaring out of the sound system. Nelson has chosen Animal Crackers In My Soup by Sherly Temple as his entrance music. Joey Jimerson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Smelly Nelson! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jimerson dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
Jimerson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nelson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jimerson. Nelson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jimerson counters with a three punch combo that has Nelson backing up. Nelson nods at Jimerson to acknowledge the strikes. Jimerson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nelson. Jimerson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. No joy there for Jimerson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jimerson tries to clinch but Nelson is having none of it. Nelson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jimerson moves nicely into side control. Nelson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Nelson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Nelson looks gassed! Nelson bucks up and tries to throw Jimerson off but instead Jimerson has got his back! Jimerson is looking to control Nelson but Nelson is wriggling around and keeping busy. Jimerson working for a choke but Nelson is defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Jimerson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jimerson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nelson throws a right hand that Jimerson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jimerson also avoids with ease. Nice uppercut lands for Nelson. That snapped Jimerson's head back.

Nelson lands with a kick to the temple. Jimerson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nelson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jimerson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Left hook, right uppercut from Nelson.
Jimerson is rocked! Smelly Nelson seems to be getting the better of the standup. Nelson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jimerson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. A kick lands to the mid section there for Nelson. Jimerson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Oh Jimerson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Nelson throws a series of punches but Jimerson avoids them all with ease. Nelson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Jimerson seems to have got his legs back now. Nelson misses with a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nelson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Nelson catches Jimerson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Nelson connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Jimerson tumbling to the canvas! Nelson pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Jimerson was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Smelly Nelson! Smelly Nelson retains his lightweight title!
