Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon comes to the cage accompanied by All Summer Long. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buddy Brandon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Gracie! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Brandon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Gracie shoots for a takedown but Brandon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Brandon to score an easy takedown into full guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Brandon passes Gracie's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gracie is refusing to be controlled, as Brandon sits in half guard. Brandon tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Gracie. Gracie works his way to full guard. Good work. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandon is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Brandon trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Buddy Brandon has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Brandon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Gracie tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brandon is in Gracie's guard. Brandon pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard. Brandon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gracie's head. Gracie wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brandon decides to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brandon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gracie sprawls well initially but Brandon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gracie controlling the position for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie manages to get to full guard.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Brandon controlling him for the moment. Brandon throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Brandon's guard. Nice move by Gracie!
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Gracie advances position into side control! Gracie sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Brandon is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Brandon is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Gracie scoring with punches from side control. Brandon tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it. Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Brandon has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Brandon. Gracie gets back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Brandon throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gracie to regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Buddy Brandon will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Brandon tries to close the distance and clinch but Gracie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Brandon, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Brandon against the cage but Brandon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Gracie has his takedown stuffed and Brandon counters with a single leg into guard. Gracie didn't expect that. Brandon stays in close to Gracie's body and controls the position. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brandon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Brandon looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Brandon seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brandon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gracie stands up over Brandon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Buddy Brandon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Brandon looking for a sweep. Not yet Brandon, not yet. Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Brandon is keeping the position for now. Gracie connects with a couple of short punches. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Brandon. Brandon has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Brandon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brandon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Gracie wants to control from the top but Brandon keeps moving. Brandon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Robert Gracie. Gracie fails with the takedown and Brandon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Buddy Brandon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Gracie. Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Robert Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Brandon. Gracie tries for a takedown but Brandon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Buddy Brandon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Gracie. A big right from Brandon misses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Brandon. Gracie misses with a takedown and Brandon counters with a slapping leg kick. Gracie avoids a kick to the body.
Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brandon counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gracie! Brandon trying to control the position but Gracie is working away. Brandon slows the pace down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Gracie manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Brandon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gracie. Gracie throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Gracie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Brandon is trying to control but can't.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Robert Gracie. I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
