The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Oliveira with that takedown attempt.
Bernard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oliveira looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bernard wants to take a breather but Oliveira manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Bernard.
Oliveira looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bernard is one step ahead there.

Bernard turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bernard manages to end up in side control.

Andy Bernard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bernard lands a head kick. Oliveira smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Bernard manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Oliveira on his heels. He'll look to pass Oliveira's guard now, I'm sure.

Bernard perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Bernard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Oliveira enables Bernard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oliveira manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bernard stands up and waves to Oliveira to follow him.

and Bernard counters with a takedown into side control.

Andy Bernard decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
