The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bruce throws a right and a left that Randall avoids nicely.
Randall tries to clinch there but Bruce circles away.

Bruce rushes Randall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Bruce manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Randall stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Bruce darts in trying to clinch

Bruce is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Randall is controlling him.

Bruce tries to lock up and control but Randall gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Randall controlling the position well here. Bruce rolled but Randall kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bruce tries to escape but Randall has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Randall is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bruce defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bruce wants to get back to his feet.

A close round but Joseph Bruce will probably get the nod.

Bruce has Randall up against the cage in a clinch.
Bruce tries a knee to the head but Randall blocks it.
Bruce lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Bruce moves into range and clinches up with Randall.

Randall has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bruce is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bruce breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bruce wants to clinch up but Randall keeps it at a distance.

Bruce throws a wild body kick that Randall sees coming a mile off.
Randall moves in looking to clinch but Bruce pushes him off.
Randall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bruce.
Arlen Randall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joseph Bruce.
Bruce slaps away a takedown attempt from Randall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bruce leaves Randall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Randall is looking to clinch but Bruce is avoiding it.

Randall escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bruce tries to clinch but Randall is having none of it.
Randall checks a low kick from Bruce.
Randall shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bruce as he jumps to the side.
Bruce connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Randall's hands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Randall circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bruce misses with a jab, cross combination.
Randall tries for a takedown but Bruce sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bruce throws a right and a left that Randall avoids nicely.
Bruce tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Randall paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bruce scores with a jab.

Bruce connects with a looping right hand.
Bruce scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Bruce wants to clinch.
Randall walks straight into a right hand from Bruce - that's dropped him! Bruce jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Randall from any more punishment! Randall complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
