Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Quinn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Tribiani! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quinn tries to keep at a distance but Tribiani has taken the fight into the clinch. Tribiani jumps guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Quinn postures up in Tribiani's guard and throws a big left but Tribiani blocks it. It's preventing any offense from Quinn, at least for the moment. Quinn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tribiani looking to control.
Tribiani looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Quinn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tribiani seems keen to control Quinn's posture. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Matthew Tribiani hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Tribiani drives through with a takedown into Quinn's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Quinn is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tribiani not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tribiani can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Quinn wants to improve his position but instead Tribiani has moved into half guard.
Quinn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Quinn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Quinn trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Quinn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tribiani doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Quinn is tightening it up a little... Tribiani has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Tribiani reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Tribiani taps out! Nice BJJ there by Quinn!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Kenny Quinn! Kenny Quinn really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Battle Ready Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
