Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shia Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Ronald Gracie!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Johnson tries to roll over but Gracie keeps him under control.

Gracie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gracie defends it easily.
Johnson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shia Johnson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gracie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Gracie manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Johnson on his heels. He'll look to pass Johnson's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gracie is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Johnson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gracie is looking to defend but Johnson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gracie! Johnson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gracie taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Shia Johnson!
