Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Don Walker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vik Vaughn! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vaughn moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Walker takes the fight into the clinch. Walker has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vaughn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Walker working for a choke but Vaughn is defending well. Walker is persistently looking for the submission but Vaughn is defending it well.
Vaughn rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker wants to pass the guard but Vaughn is defending well. Walker is keen to just control but Vaughn is a slippery customer. Walker content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Walker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Walker wants to control but Vaughn is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vaughn is just riding it out for now. Walker eventually gives up the hold. Walker throwing shots but Vaughn is blocking nicely. Vaughn won't allow Walker to pass to mount. Vaughn tries to roll over but Walker keeps him under control. Walker is working for a kimura but Vaughn is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker is trying to control. Vaughn wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Walker tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vaughn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Vaughn trying to hold on to Walker's head to control him but Walker postures up.
Vaughn is staying active underneath Walker, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Walker throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Walker tries to pass to full mount but Vaughn defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walker throwing shots but Vaughn is blocking nicely. Vaughn trying to control but Walker postures up.
Walker is working for a submission of some sort.
Vaughn is in trouble now - Walker has advanced to mount! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Walker wants to get back to his feet but Vaughn is holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Walker dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Walker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vaughn avoids it really well and circles away. Don Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vaughn pinned against the cage. Vaughn gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Walker misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walker tries for a takedown but Vaughn sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vaughn bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Walker misses with a body shot.
Walker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vaughn as he avoids it easily. Walker tries to clinch but Vaughn is having none of it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walker is defended easily by Vaughn. Walker connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Don Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Walker's jab looks to have found its range, popping Vaughn under the eye.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker misses with a double jab.
Vaughn tries to move into range but Walker moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. A combination from Walker does no damage. Walker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Vaughn's waist but Vaughn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walker off to one side. Walker tries to clinch up but Vaughn circles away and keeps his distance. Walker misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Walker looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Walker changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vaughn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vaughn holds on to Walker's head and controls the position momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vaughn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Vaughn gets back to half guard. Vaughn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Walker. Walker is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Vaughn controlling the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vaughn is not content to let Walker control the position. Vaughn slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Vaughn seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vaughn can do anything to dispel that myth. Vaughn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Don Walker dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Walker tries to close the distance and clinch but Vaughn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vaughn walks into a jab. Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Vaughn circles away.
Walker throws a right and a left that Vaughn avoids nicely. Walker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vaughn swats him away and circles back towards the center. Walker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vaughn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Walker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker throws a head kick that misses. Walker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Vaughn circles away from the clinch attempt.

Walker tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Vaughn defends well and Walker ends up having to push Vaughn into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Vaughn wants a takedown but no success here.
Vaughn wants the takedown. Walker is fighting it off but Vaughn persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Walker's guard against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vaughn distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Vaughn wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position. Vaughn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Vaughn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Walker is looking to stand up but Vaughn isn't so interested in that idea. Vaughn lands a couple of decent looking shots. Vaughn is in close to Walker's body, working some short punches and elbows. This has been an exciting period of action! Vaughn distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Walker trying to control the position.

Walker wants to sweep here but Vaughn controlling him for the moment. Vaughn throwing strikes from guard but Walker blocks nicely. Walker looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vaughn stops Walker from standing up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Vaughn scoring with punches to the head and body. Vaughn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vaughn is in close to Walker's body, working some short punches and elbows. Vaughn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Vaughn keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Walker's head. Vaughn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Vaughn is working Walker over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vaughn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Vaughn scoring with punches to the head and body. Vaughn distracts Walker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Vaughn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vaughn chips away with some ground and pound. Vaughn is pushing down on Walker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walker is fighting to maintain full guard but Vaughn has managed to sneak the leg through. Walker on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vaughn connects with a nice short shot to Walker's temple. Vaughn prevents Walker from improving his position. Walker is looking to control Vaughn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walker avoid being mounted? Vaughn scoring with strikes to the body and head. Vaughn seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Vaughn drops an elbow to the side of Walker's head. Vaughn is nestled in close to Walker, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Don Walker is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Walker is rocked! Walker wants to get back to his feet.
Oh Walker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Vaughn drops an elbow to the side of Walker's head. Vaughn landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Vaughn is trying to work for a kimura but Walker is defending well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vaughn slips a nice elbow through Walker's hands, connecting with Walker's forehead. Vaughn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Vaughn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Vik Vaughn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Walker is looking for a sweep. Vaughn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Vik Vaughn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Walker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
