Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Holy Grail. Cruz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Tech N9ne - Livin' Like I'm Dyin kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Felix Cruz acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Felix Cruz! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz tries for a takedown but Williams sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Williams will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Williams shoots for a takedown but Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Cruz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him. Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cruz throws out the jab. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Williams shoots for a double leg takedown but Cruz sprawls well. He's pushed Williams's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Williams is breathing heavily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cruz. Williams tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cruz defends well and Williams ends up having to push Cruz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Cruz is looking for a takedown. Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cruz.
Cruz is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well. Williams lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Cruz looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams prevents Cruz from improving his position. Williams lands strikes from half guard. Cruz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Cruz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Williams. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cruz trying to hold on to Williams's head to control him but Williams postures up.

Williams in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cruz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Cruz is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Williams tries to free his leg and advance position but Cruz is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams throws an elbow that misses. Cruz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Cruz! Cruz looking to pass the guard. Cruz trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom. Cruz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Williams keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. Williams seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Felix Cruz wasn't active enough on the ground. Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Cruz, before circling back to the center of the mat. Cruz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Williams's waist but Williams gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cruz off to one side. Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Cruz, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Cruz against the cage but Cruz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cruz has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Williams is landing a low percentage of strikes. Cruz looks to land a combination but Williams avoids it well. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet. Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Williams circles away. Horrible takedown by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Williams is defended easily by Cruz.

Joe Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Williams closes the distance and clinches up with Cruz, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes Cruz against the cage but Cruz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Cruz fails to land the takedown. Cruz fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away. Cruz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Williams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Cruz throws a right hand that Williams ducks under and follows up with a left that Williams also avoids with ease. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cruz shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Williams closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Cruz is trying to stand.
Williams thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cruz enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cruz manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cruz wants to stand but Williams is controlling the position. Williams throws a strike but Cruz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Cruz looking to pass the guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Williams keeping moving, preventing Cruz from controlling successfully. That was a close second round but I would say that Joe Williams will probably get the nod. That's time! Williams's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Felix Cruz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. A head kick misses from Cruz. Williams avoids a punch combination nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Joe Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felix Cruz. Cruz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Felix Cruz. I think Cruz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
