Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dereck Hosholt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Crabtree (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richard Crabtree looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dereck Hosholt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Crabtree!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Crabtree tries to sprawl but Hosholt drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hosholt with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Crabtree looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hosholt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hosholt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Crabtree defends it well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hosholt works his foot free and advances to mount.

Hosholt tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hosholt is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Crabtree can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Crabtree tries to buck Hosholt off but he can't manage it.
Hosholt content just to control the position here.

Hosholt is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Crabtree is surviving well by controlling Hosholt's body position as best he can.

Hosholt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hosholt wants to finish this one by submission but Crabtree is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hosholt.
Hosholt really is a fat lump.

Hosholt controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dereck Hosholt dominated that round.
That's time! Hosholt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Hosholt avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hosholt closes the distance and clinches up with Crabtree, looking for a takedown. Hosholt pushes Crabtree against the cage but Crabtree circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crabtree catches Hosholt with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Dereck Hosholt has been cut.
Hosholt darts in looking for a takedown but Crabtree gets double underhooks and turns Hosholt into the cage.

Hosholt prevents Crabtree from breaking the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Crabtree's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Crabtree is trying to break free.
Hosholt keeps control of Crabtree as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Crabtree can't find room to land a body shot as Hosholt controls the action.

Crabtree is trying to break free.

Hosholt turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Hosholt is staying tight to Crabtree's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Crabtree is trying to get back to his feet.

Hosholt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Crabtree is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dereck Hosholt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hosholt tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

A lull in the action here.
Crabtree is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Hosholt asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Hosholt is working to tighten his grip on Crabtree's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Crabtree has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Hosholt is really squeezing tight and eventually Crabtree passes out! Hosholt breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
