Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samick Behringer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Nygard!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nygard misses with a kick to the body.
Nygard dives in and grabs Behringer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Behringer pushes down on Nygard's head and hops out.

Nygard drives through and clinches with Behringer against the cage.

Nygard breaks from the clinch.
A head kick by Nygard misses

and Behringer counters by clinching up.

Nygard manages to break the clinch.
Nygard missing with a left hand there. Behringer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Behringer scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Nygard doesn't seem bothered though.
Behringer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nygard circles away quickly and effectively.
Behringer lands a really nice looking cross but Nygard seems unphased.
Nygard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Behringer's waist but Behringer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nygard off to one side.
Behringer definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Nygard misses with a jab to the body

and Behringer counters with a shoot takedown. Nygard fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Behringer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Nygard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Behringer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Behringer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nygard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Behringer trying to control the action but Nygard is working from the bottom.

Nygard is trying to get back to half guard.

Behringer wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nygard, who protects the arm well.
Nygard is trying to buck Behringer off.
Nygard stops Behringer from passing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
An elbow from Behringer crashes against the mat.
Nygard prevents Behringer from moving into mount.

Behringer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Nygard takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Nygard seems a little lost for a moment, as Behringer dominates the positioning.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nygard can do anything to dispel that myth.
Nygard wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Behringer has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Nygard is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Behringer yanks on the arm and Nygard is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Behringer.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Samick Behringer!
