Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Spring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kruger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Spring is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Kruger is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Spring working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kruger.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ricky Spring. Spring will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Spring keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kruger shoots in but no luck this time. Spring misses with a takedown attempt - Kruger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kruger shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kruger showed some decent athleticism there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spring trying to control here.

Kruger controlling the position easily from mount. Let's hope that Kruger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Tyson Kruger has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Spring defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kruger. Ricky Spring has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Kruger. Spring throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kruger's waist but Kruger gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spring off to one side. Kruger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kruger fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kruger looks winded! Spring displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kruger. Kruger will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Spring is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kruger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Spring scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Crunch! Spring slams his shin into Kruger's torso. Horrible takedown by Spring or perhaps it was just good defense by Kruger which made him look bad. Kruger shoots in looking for a takedown. Spring tries to sprawl out of it but Kruger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Spring manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Kruger stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spring catches Kruger with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Spring slaps away a takedown attempt from Kruger, before circling back to the center of the mat. Spring clinches up against the cage. Kruger stops a takedown attempt from Spring.

This has been an exciting period of action! Spring working some nice short punches in the clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Spring jumps guard but Kruger stands there with Spring around his waist. Spring gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spring was covering up waiting for the punch and Kruger finishes the takedown easily into guard. Spring is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kruger defends well. Kruger looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Tyson Kruger has got the better of the ground game so far.

Spring's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nice takedown defense from Spring. No joy for Kruger on that attempt. Spring shoots in but no luck this time. Kruger closes the distance and clinches. Spring has Kruger pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kruger manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
