Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Seppo Silvennoinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Hagen! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hagen scores with a takedown into Silvennoinen's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Silvennoinen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hagen looking to pass the guard. Hagen is looking to pass into half guard but Silvennoinen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Silvennoinen is in guard. Hagen is trying to control the position but Silvennoinen postures up. Silvennoinen stands up over Hagen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Silvennoinen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hagen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silvennoinen has managed to get both his arms back between Hagen's legs - danger averted. Hagen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silvennoinen controls the pace. Silvennoinen passes Hagen's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hagen looking for subs from the bottom but Silvennoinen mounts him! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Silvennoinen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hagen looks a forlorn figure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hagen is trying desperately to improve position. Silvennoinen looking to control but Hagen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hagen tries to lock up and control but Silvennoinen gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Silvennoinen working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Hagen turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Silvennoinen off and cradles Hagen's limp body as Silvennoinen celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Seppo Silvennoinen!
