Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maarten Kok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Berzins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berzins lands a nice looking body shot.
Berzins with a jab.
Kok throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Berzins.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kok!
Kok throws a head kick that Berzins semi-blocks.
Kok fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Kok feints and then cracks Berzins's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Berzins down.
Berzins looks to throw the jab but Kok is out of range.
Berzins sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Kok scores with a head kick. Berzins tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Maarten Kok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kok throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Berzins on the side of the head.

Berzins lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Berzins lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Berzins lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kok backwards.

Kok tries to throw a body punch but Berzins avoids it by throwing Kok back against the cage.

Berzins lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Kok swings wildly with an uppercut but Berzins uses good head movement to avoid it.
Berzins lands with a light punch inside.
Kok can't find room to land a body shot as Berzins controls the action.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Berzins creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Berzins throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Koks head.
Kok takes a shot to the head.
Berzins is pushing Kok up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Berzins lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kok or not.
Kok is trying to break the clinch but Berzins is controlling him.

Berzins lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kok backwards.
Berzins is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Berzins scores with a body shot.
Kok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Berzins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Berzins cracks Kok with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Kok tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Berzins pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Kok is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samuel Berzins!
