Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Lombard is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock moves in looking to clinch but Lombard pushes him off.
Rock shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lombard's waist but Lombard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rock off to one side.
Lombard throws a nice looking combination but Rock bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lombard darts in trying to clinch
and Rock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rock shoots in looking for a takedown. Lombard tries to sprawl out of it but Rock keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lombard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Rock. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lombard moves in looking to clinch but Rock pushes him off.
Lombard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lombard goes for a double leg but Rock avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rock continues to drive forward.

Lombard gets a trip takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rock is controlling Lombard's trapped leg to prevent Lombard from advancing to side control.

Lombard not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rock trying to hold on to Lombard's head to control him but Lombard postures up.
Lombard slips a nice elbow through Rock's hands, connecting with Rock's forehead.
Rock moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Rock keeping moving, preventing Lombard from controlling successfully.
Lombard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rock doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Rock wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Rock manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rock takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lombard is working to get back to half guard.
Lombard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rock controlling his opponent.

Rock prevents Lombard from getting the reversal.

Rock looking for a guillotine from mount but Lombard is having none of it.
Lombard is trying to reverse the position but instead Rock has taken his back - oops!
Lombard wants to control his opponent's hands but Rock gets his hands free.
Can Lombard hold on?! Rock is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Rock sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Lombard taps out!
