Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eikichi Onizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Onizuka has chosen GTO's Greatest Moments as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eikichi Onizuka! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Onizuka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Diaz connects with a right hand. Onizuka shakes it off. Diaz throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Onizuka moves to clinch but Diaz breaks away and Diaz counters with a nice leg kick. Diaz takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Diaz keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Onizuka rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Diaz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Onizuka's guard now. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Onizuka has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though. Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Onizuka is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Onizuka is trying to control the position but Diaz postures up. Diaz trying to control but Onizuka is working from the bottom. Diaz sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Onizuka's guard. Diaz is trying to control the action in half guard but Onizuka is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Onizuka has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Diaz escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Diaz!
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz trying to control the action but Onizuka is working from the bottom. Onizuka tries to bench press Diaz off him but Diaz keeps the position. Onizuka is not content to let Diaz control the position. Onizuka tries to escape but Diaz is in control. Diaz trying to control the action but Onizuka is working from the bottom. Diaz working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Onizuka is trying to get back to his feet. Onizuka is not content to let Diaz control the position. Diaz has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Onizuka! Diaz looking to control but Onizuka is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Onizuka is controlling an arm, preventing Diaz from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Diaz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Onizuka is surviving well by controlling Diaz's body position as best he can. Onizuka prevents Diaz from taking his back. Diaz looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Onizuka wants to control but Diaz is having none of it. Onizuka tries to buck Diaz off but he can't manage it. Onizuka tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away. Onizuka bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Onizuka working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Diaz's head. Onizuka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Diaz is keeping the position for now. Diaz keeping moving, preventing Onizuka from controlling successfully. Diaz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Onizuka is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Onizuka postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Onizuka throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Onizuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Diaz swivels though and keeps the full guard. Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Onizuka wants to get back to his feet. Diaz seems to be looking for submissions.
Onizuka gets full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Diaz stops Onizuka from standing up. Diaz advances position into side control! Diaz working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Onizuka doesn't manage to clinch there - Diaz circles away.
Diaz with a hook. Onizuka wants to clinch up but Diaz keeps it at a distance. Onizuka shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Onizuka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Onizuka tries to clinch but Diaz moves away and Diaz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Onizuka's guard now. Onizuka wants to stand but Diaz is controlling the position. Onizuka looking to hit a scissor sweep but Diaz is one step ahead there. Onizuka can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace. Diaz trying to control but Onizuka is working from the bottom.

Diaz tries to free his leg and advance position but Onizuka is retaining full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Diaz just misses with a punch to the body.
Onizuka digs a good body shot into Diaz's ribs. Diaz is looking to chop away at Onizuka's legs. Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Onizuka walks into a straight right hand from Diaz. Onizuka tries to sprawl but Diaz drives through with a takedown into half guard. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Onizuka is defending well. Onizuka wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Onizuka is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Onizuka is looking to escape. Diaz stalling. Diaz is looking for a kimura but Onizuka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage. Onizuka is defending against the submission attempts here by Diaz.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is pressing down on Onizuka's thigh, looking to free his foot. Onizuka is holding on for now. Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Onizuka has managed to free his arm - good work. Onizuka has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though. Diaz seems to be looking for submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Onizuka wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Onizuka is trying to stand up here but Diaz is controlling him well. Diaz wants to free his trapped foot but Onizuka is holding on for dear life with his legs. Diaz trying to control the action but Onizuka is working from the bottom. Diaz uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Onizuka. Onizuka is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Eikichi Onizuka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Onizuka tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Diaz is looking to chop away at Onizuka's legs. Eikichi Onizuka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Onizuka looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Onizuka forces Diaz back against the cage and clinches. Diaz throws a head punch that misses. Onizuka fails to pull the fight into his guard.

A frustrated look appears on Onizuka's face as he tries to break the clinch. Onizuka looking to slow down the pace here. Diaz throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Onizukas head. Diaz has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Onizuka is trying to keep an underhook but Diaz manages to get the takedown into half guard. Onizuka regains full guard. Nicely done. Diaz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Diaz pushing down on Onizuka's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Onizuka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Diaz as he jumps to the side. Matt Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eikichi Onizuka. Diaz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Onizuka wants to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Onizuka stuffs the takedown. The fight moves into the clinch position. Diaz throws a punch but it's blocked by Onizuka. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Diaz. A short left from Diaz. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Diaz. Matt Diaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Diaz blocking some punches.
Onizuka throws a knee to the head but misses.
Onizuka takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Diaz misses with a punch to the body.
Onizuka wants to break the clinch but can't.

Diaz lands a right hand. Onizuka is defending well against a takedown attempt. Eikichi Onizuka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz working some nice short punches in the clinch. Onizuka is trying to force a seperation but Diaz has the dominant position. A head punch blocked on the inside by Diaz. Onizuka misses with the head strike.
Diaz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Onizuka regains guard immediately. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Onizuka wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it. The fighters are working up against the cage. Onizuka manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Diaz is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Diaz keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Onizuka's efforts to push away. Diaz is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Onizuka is defending well. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Onizuka gets through Diaz's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Still in the clinch, Onizuka scores with a nice short uppercut. Onizuka has Diaz pushed against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Diaz. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
