Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Bryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Edward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bryan comes to the cage accompanied by Flight of the Valkyries. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Bryan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Edward!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryan slips a straight right by Edward.

Edward has managed to clinch.
Edward misses with some punches.

Bryan breaks from the clinch.
Bryan misses with a low kick as Edward jumps back.
Bryan blocks a head kick by Edward.
Edward throws an off balance right hand
and Bryan counters with a low kick, right behind Edward 's knee.
Edward fails to land with a series of punches.
Edward tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Bryan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bryan.
Bryan avoiding damage.
A nice left hand lands by Bryan.
Edward goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bryan lands a nice uppercut.
Edward misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bryan lands a hook to the side of the head.
Edward misses with some punches.
Edward keeps control of Bryan as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bryan working some nice short punches in the clinch.


It looks like Ryan Edward has been cut.
Bryan is looking to break free of the clinch but Edward has double underhooks.
Edward blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bryan looking to stall.
Edward is leaning against Bryan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Bryan manages to pull guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bryan has his foot on Edward's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Edward works his way back into a safe position though.

Edward avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bryan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edward gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Edward pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bryan is keeping the position for now.

Bryan has an active guard here but Edward has managed to pass into half guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Edward seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Bryan wants to get back to full guard.
Edward blocks the strikes from Bryan.
Bryan is trying to control but can't.

Bryan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Edward pulls his head out easily.
Bryan is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Team Finland that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Bryan is trying to get back to full guard.

Bryan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Edward's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Edward's back!

Edward has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Bryan.
Edward covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Bryan has the hooks in. Edward is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Bryan looking to break Edward's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Edward remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Bryan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Bryan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ryan Edward's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bryan misses with a lunging right hand
and Edward counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Daniel Bryan has been cut.
Bryan tries to close the distance and clinch but Edward swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bryan misses with a leg kick.
Edward takes one to the chin there.
Edward darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Bryan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bryan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Edward manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bryan's best efforts.

Bryan is trying to control the action in half guard but Edward is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Edward tries to kick Bryan off but Bryan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Bryan is pushing down on Edward's leg trying to pass to half guard. Edward is fighting to maintain full guard but Bryan has managed to sneak the leg through.
Edward regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Bryan.

Bryan advances position into side control!
Bryan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bryan controls the position.

Bryan is trying to get an arm triangle but Edward is defending well.
Edward prevents Bryan from moving into mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bryan takes a little break here. Edward wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Bryan trying to control the action but Edward is working from the bottom.
Bryan tries to move into full mount but can't pass Edward's legs.

Bryan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bryan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bryan is looking to take a break and control but Edward is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Edward managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bryan.
Bryan has knee on belly and moves into mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bryan thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Bryan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Edward has worked his arm free - good work by Edward!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Bryan dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Edward attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Edward throws a nice inside leg kick.
Edward circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bryan thows a leg kick but Edward checks it
and Edward makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Crunch! Bryan slams his shin into Edward's torso.
A decent looking cross lands there for Edward.
Edward throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bryan's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Edward throws out a loose jab but Bryan uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice combination there by Edward.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Donk. Edward catches Bryan right on the button with a cross.


Bryan is rocked!
Bryan shoots in but Edward avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Edward connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bryan's hands.
Oh Bryan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Daniel Bryan's cut is getting worse.
Bryan glances at the clock... BAM! Edward nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Bryan crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Bryan is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ryan Edward!
A very excited looking Ryan Edward made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
The defeated Daniel Bryan had this to say: 'NO! NO! NO! NO!'.
