Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Renato Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Peppers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Bring Da Ruckus. A fine choice. Peppers has chosen Day N Nite-Kid Cudi as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
34 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Renato Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 20 - 2, fighting out of New York, Julius Peppers! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Peppers.
Peppers avoids a kick to the body.
Peppers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Peppers somewhat. Gracie throws a nice looking combination but Peppers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Peppers checks the leg kick. Peppers misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming. Peppers avoids a kick to the body.
Peppers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Gracie manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Peppers manages to get himself to full guard.
Gracie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peppers is working an open guard so Gracie takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peppers to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet. Gracie has his feet on Peppers's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. A lazy body kick from Gracie and Peppers counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Peppers throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it. Gracie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Peppers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peppers swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Peppers takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Peppers misses the jab. Gracie looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Gracie scores with a head kick.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gracie misses with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peppers lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gracie will feel that in the morning. Gracie misses with a low kick. Gracie swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Peppers. Gracie throws a jab but it's blocked by Peppers. Peppers misses with a few strikes there.
A swing and a miss from Gracie. Gracie slips under a jab from Peppers. Peppers bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Peppers lands a really nice looking cross but Gracie seems unphased.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie throws a leg kick but Peppers sees it coming and moves out of range. Gracie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gracie wants it to stay on the feet. Renato Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julius Peppers. Gracie leaves Peppers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Gracie looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Peppers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peppers lands with a thumping leg kick.
This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie scores with a body shot.

Renato Gracie dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Gracie throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A combination from Gracie does no damage. Good leg kick by Gracie there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Peppers moves out of range of the body kick. Peppers misses with a few strikes there.
Nice sprawl there from Gracie as Peppers shoots in. Nice body punch from Gracie. Gracie lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Gracie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot. Gracie pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie throws a nice head kick!
Peppers ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gracie thows a body shot but no joy. Gracie misses the shot to the body. Gracie throws a body punch but Peppers moves out of range. Renato Gracie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Peppers.
Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Peppers. Peppers looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well. Nice defenses there by Peppers.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Julius Peppers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Gracie bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Peppers uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Gracie. Gracie defending well as Peppers loads up on a big left hand. Gracie swings widly with a right hand
enabling Peppers to counter with a crisp jab. Peppers uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie. Gracie's corner calls for a 1-2. Gracie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Peppers takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gracie walks into a straight right hand from Peppers. Peppers's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gracie under the eye.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice defenses there by Gracie. Peppers throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease. Peppers darts in looking for a takedown but Gracie gets double underhooks and turns Peppers into the cage. Peppers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gracie clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Gracie trying to control the hands but Peppers breaks the grip. Gracie is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. I really don't envy Gracie right now.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Peppers trying to control. Gracie is really stuck here.
Peppers controlling from the back. This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie trying to control the position but Peppers manages to sink in the hooks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie tries to roll but Peppers sticks to his back.
Gracie rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Gracie wants to improve his position but Peppers is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Gracie misses. Gracie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Peppers has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Peppers bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Peppers misses with a double jab
and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Peppers shoots in but Gracie avoids the takedown attempt easily. Renato Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julius Peppers. Gracie misses with a low kick. Peppers takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peppers fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Gracie looks to throw the jab but Peppers is out of range. Gracie jabs at Peppers's body. Gracie waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Peppers. Peppers throws out a leg kick but Gracie moves out of range and Peppers only half commits. Gracie throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Peppers keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Peppers tries to work over Gracie's front leg with a kick but Gracie checks it. Peppers ducks under a wild hook from Gracie. Julius Peppers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's three minutes gone in the round. A decent looking body kick lands there for Gracie. Peppers throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Gracie lands a glancing blow to the side of Peppers's head. Peppers keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie. Peppers walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Gracie throws a nice head kick!
Gracie throws a leg kick but Peppers sees it coming and checks it nicely. Nice shot lands for Peppers.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A kick lands to the mid section there for Gracie. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peppers fails to land the takedown. Peppers lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gracie blocks the body kick.
Peppers has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gracie finds it's way round the side to connect with Peppers's head. Gracie scores with a crisp jab that stopped Peppers in his tracks. Renato Gracie is winning the standup battle so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peppers lands with a right hand. Peppers misses with a head kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Renato Gracie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
