Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Koa Polunu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles has chosen Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles as his entrance music. Koa Polunu could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Henry Charles's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koa Polunu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Charles! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polunu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Charles circles away quickly and effectively. A big left from Polunu misses. Charles throws a body punch but Polunu moves out of range. Charles fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Charles throws a left and a right that both miss
and Polunu decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Charles's guard. Polunu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Charles is keeping the position for now. Charles tries to land a sweep but no joy. Polunu trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Polunu won't allow Charles to sweep him here. Charles wants to stand up but Polunu is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Polunu connects with a jab.
It looks like Henry Charles has been cut. Polunu pivots, looking for a leg kick but Charles is out of range and Polunu settles back down. Charles misses with a looping right. Polunu throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Charles avoids the body shot from Polunu.
Polunu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Charles manages to avoid it. Polunu throws a leg kick but Charles checks it. Polunu seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Polunu was well out of range. Poor timing from Charles. Charles throws out a powerful jab. Polunu misses with a low kick. Charles clinches. Charles scores with a hook to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A right handed body shot lands from Polunu.

Polunu looks to land a left hand but Charles moved out of range nicely. Charles throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Charles ducks under a wild hook from Polunu. Polunu is looking to slow Charles down with leg kicks. Good standup being displayed there by Polunu as he connects with a hook. Polunu slips under a jab from Charles. Charles lands with an overhand left. Polunu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Polunu misses with a leg kick and Charles counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Polunu slips under a jab from Charles. A kick lands to the mid section there for Charles. Charles lands a nice looking body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Charles misses with a double jab.

A clash of legs there as Charles blocks the low kick. Polunu slips under a jab. Polunu takes one on the button. A slow jab from Polunu misses its intended target. Polunu tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Polunu misses with a low kick as Charles jumps back. A lazy left from Polunu finds it's target. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Polunu throws a body punch but Charles moves out of range. Polunu tries to move into range but Charles moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Polunu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Charles sees it coming and avoids it easily. Polunu cracks Charles with a right hand to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Koa Polunu dominated that round. The cut man is working on Henry Charles's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
No joy there for Charles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Polunu staying out of range there. Charles stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Polunu pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Polunu throws a nice head kick!

and Charles counters with a left to the body. Charles throws a right and a left that both miss. Charles loads up on a big right hand but Polunu slips the punch. Polunu tried to score with a low kick but Charles checks it. Polunu throws a shot from downtown. Charles moves away and avoids it. Charles blocks the body kick.
A jab from Charles finds it's way through Polunu's defenses. Charles throws a series of punches but Polunu moves out of range. Henry Charles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polunu throws an overhand right that lands on Charles's shoulder, as Charles tries to avoid the shot. Polunu getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Henry Charles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Charles with a hook. Charles jabbing away but nothing is landing. Charles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Polunu manages to avoid it. Polunu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Charles can pounce on him.

and Charles connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Charles lands with a cross. Charles tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Charles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Polunu paws at him with a jab and circles away. Charles misses with a combination
and Polunu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Polunu. This has been an exciting period of action! Charles trying to keep a closed guard but Polunu is proving a slippery customer.
Polunu controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polunu wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Polunu won't allow Charles to sweep him here.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Koa Polunu just wasn't active enough. Charles avoids the body shot from Polunu.

A jab lands there for Polunu. Polunu circles away from the clinch attempt and Polunu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Polunu.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles has his foot on Polunu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Polunu works his way back into a safe position though. Polunu is stalling in the full guard. Charles is looking for a triangle but Polunu pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Polunu tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard. Polunu's corner is telling him to maintain position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Koa Polunu has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Charles has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Charles there as he acknowledges the shot. Charles misses with a straight right. Charles with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Charles is looking to score with low kicks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Polunu lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Charles has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Charles and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Charles moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Charles's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Charles duly obliges. Charles throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Koa Polunu dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Henry Charles's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Polunu counters with a nice double leg into guard. Charles is looking for a triangle but Polunu pushes his legs off easily.
Polunu controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Charles pushes Polunu off and gets back to his feet.

Polunu avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Polunu lets loose with a powerful body kick. Charles will feel that in the morning. Charles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Polunu bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Polunu connects with the punch. Crunch! Polunu slams his shin into Charles's torso. Charles leaves Polunu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Polunu throws a shot from downtown. Charles moves away and avoids it. Decent striking displayed by Polunu there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Charles waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Polunu. Charles has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Polunu finds it's way round the side to connect with Charles's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Polunu throws a jab when Charles was well out of range. Charles lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Polunu circles away quickly and effectively. Polunu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Charles's sensitive parts. Polunu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Charles is looking to control Polunu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Charles avoid being mounted? Koa Polunu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Polunu with the ground and pound but Charles uses the opportunity to regain guard. Henry Charles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Polunu tries to free his leg and advance position but Charles is retaining full guard. Charles is trying to keep Polunu in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polunu is stalling in the full guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Polunu misses with a hook. Charles throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Polunu was covering up waiting for the punch and Charles finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Polunu pulls Charles in close to prevent any damage. Charles tries to free his leg and advance position but Polunu is retaining full guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Polunu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Koa Polunu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Polunu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
