Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gwan Dylan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dylan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Dylan not landing any meaningful shots this time. Joe trying to get back to full guard but Dylan takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Dylan swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Joe is now in Dylan's guard. A big mistake from Dylan there, giving up the dominant position! Dylan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dylan working a defensive guard here.
Dylan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

We're going to have a standup here because Gwan Dylan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Joe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Joe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dylan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Dylan shoots in and gets a takedown into Joe's guard. Joe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dylan defends it easily. Dylan wants to pass the guard but Joe is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dylan controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dylan stands and steps away. Joe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Dylan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Joe's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dylan trying to control but Joe is working from the bottom. Dylan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Dylan trying to control the position from guard on top but Joe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dylan stopping the sweep attempt from Joe.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gwan Dylan. Joe tries to clinch up. Dylan throws a sloppy head kick and Joe moves out of range easily. Joe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dylan clinches up with Joe and pushes him back against the cage. Dylan is looking to break free of the clinch but Joe has double underhooks. Joe has Dylan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dylan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Gwan Dylan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Average Joe. Joe is looking to break free of the clinch but Dylan has double underhooks. Dylan manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Dylan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Joe wants to stand and escape but instead Dylan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Joe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dylan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Joe looks winded! Joe being controlled here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joe wants to hit a switch here but Dylan passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Joe there! Dylan thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Dylan throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joe is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Gwan Dylan dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Joe gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Dylan moves into the clinch. Dylan lands a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dylan gets to his feet. Joe looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Joe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Joe tries to clinch so Dylan counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gwan Dylan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dylan working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dylan looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dylan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dylan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dylan advances to mount. Dylan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dylan thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Dylan looking to ground and pound but Joe is blocking nicely. Dylan sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joe is trying to escape the mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dylan is standing up, even though he is in mount. Dylan gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dylan has had enough of the clinch but Joe keeps him there for the moment. Joe swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Dylan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Joe is one step ahead there. Dylan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Dylan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dylan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joe manages to get himself to full guard.
Dylan content to stall in guard here. Dylan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dylan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dylan thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dylan throws the kick towards the body but Joe avoids it. Dylan keeps the fight on the outside. Dylan drives through and clinches with Joe against the cage.

Dylan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Joe tumbling to the mat - Dylan dives into Joe's guard. Joe lands a decent punch to the body there. Dylan stops Joe from standing up. Dylan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Joe's guard. Dylan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Dylan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Joe tries to reverse the position but Dylan maintains control. Dylan controlling from mount. Dylan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Joe can do to turn this around? Dylan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Joe is looking to escape. Dylan prevents Joe from getting the reversal.

Joe is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Dylan off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Joe takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dylan is working for a rear naked choke. Joe is not defending it well and Dylan has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Joe refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Joe's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
