Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Dolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dolan has chosen Shipping Up to Boston as his entrance music. Andrei Emelianenko could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mick Dolan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrei Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Dolan!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dolan gets a takedown into half guard.
Emelianenko trying to hold on to Dolan's head to control him but Dolan postures up.
Emelianenko is looking for a sweep. Dolan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Dolan is working for a kimura but Emelianenko is defending it quite comfortably.
Dolan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dolan passes to full mount!
Dolan avoids the attempt from Emelianenko to control.
Dolan lands a big elbow.

Dolan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Emelianenko is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Dolan doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Dolan wants to sweep but no luck.
Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Dolan keeps moving.

Dolan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Emelianenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Emelianenko scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Dolan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dolan is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Emelianenko pulls his head out easily.
Emelianenko moves nicely into side control.
Emelianenko wants to control but Dolan is keeping him busy.

Emelianenko decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dolan to his feet.

and Dolan counters with a big head kick but Emelianenko shrugs it off.

Dolan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emelianenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dolan.

Emelianenko shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Emelianenko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dolan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Emelianenko swivels and escapes.

Dolan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Emelianenko moves away.

Emelianenko shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Emelianenko showed some decent athleticism there.
Emelianenko looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Dolan is trying to control but can't.
Dolan is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Emelianenko is staying active.
Emelianenko is nestled in close to Dolan, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dolan wants to get back to full guard.
Dolan is breathing heavily.

Dolan is not content to let Emelianenko control the position.
Dolan is trying to control but can't.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dolan has his foot on Emelianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Emelianenko works his way back into a safe position though.
Dolan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Emelianenko stands up from Dolan's guard - Emelianenko perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dolan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Emelianenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dolan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Emelianenko shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Emelianenko takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The crowd cheers as Dolan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Emelianenko doesn't seem phased though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Emelianenko is staying active underneath Dolan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Emelianenko is defending against the submission attempts here by Dolan.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

BOOM! Dolan connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Dolan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Emelianenko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dolan is looking to improve his position.
Emelianenko perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dolan is staying active underneath Emelianenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Emelianenko is taking a breather. Dolan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
