Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bruno Serafin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Einat Thoresen!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thoresen clinches up against the cage.
Thoresen tries to land a knee to the head but Serafin blocks with his arms.

Thoresen works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Serafin trying to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Serafin is working an open guard so Thoresen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Thoresen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thoresen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Einat Thoresen was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Thoresen has managed to clinch.

Thoresen gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Serafin regains guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Serafin wants to hit a switch here but Thoresen passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Serafin there!

It looks like Thoresen might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Thoresen tries a head kick but it misses.

Thoresen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Serafin makes his way to full guard, as Thoresen worked for a kimura.
Serafin wants to sweep but no luck.
Serafin has his hands on Thoresen's head, controlling the position.
Serafin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Thoresen wants to control from the top but Serafin keeps moving.
Serafin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Einat Thoresen wasn't active enough on the ground.

Thoresen pushes Serafin up against the cage in a clinch.
Serafin is trying to break the clinch but Thoresen has him pressed against the cage.

Serafin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Thoresen fails in his attempt to clinch.

Thoresen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Serafin to the ground. Thoresen is now in Serafin's guard.
Serafin keeping moving, preventing Thoresen from controlling successfully.
Thoresen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Serafin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Thoresen!
Serafin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Thoresen tries to reverse the position but Serafin maintains control.

Thoresen is still trying to improve position.
Thoresen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Serafin controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thoresen working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Einat Thoresen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thoresen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Serafin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Serafin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Einat Thoresen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Thoresen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Serafin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Thoresen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Thoresen throws a strike but Serafin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruno Serafin wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Thoresen has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Serafin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Thoresen controlling the position well here. Serafin rolled but Thoresen kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Thoresen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Thoresen keeps control of the position easily here as Serafin tries to buck him off.

Einat Thoresen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Thoresen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
