Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Rawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre Skogsbaer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skogsbaer has chosen Rough boy - ZZ Top as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Pierre Skogsbaer!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rawls shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Skogsbaer's guard.
Rawls prevents Skogsbaer from getting back to his feet.
Rawls wants to pass the guard but Skogsbaer is keeping the position.

Rawls drops back, looking for a kneebar! Skogsbaer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Skogsbaer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Skogsbaer!
Rawls is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Skogsbaer is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Skogsbaer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Skogsbaer controlling the pace for now.
Skogsbaer looking to control but Rawls is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Rawls sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Rawls is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Rawls looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Skogsbaer tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rawls.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rawls is looking to regain half guard here but Skogsbaer keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Skogsbaer decides to stand back up. Skogsbaer steps back and let's Rawls get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Skogsbaer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rawls backs up against the cage.


It looks like John Rawls has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rawls.
Rawls is breathing heavily.
Skogsbaer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Pierre Skogsbaer dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Rawls's cut.

Skogsbaer misses with a double jab.

Rawls closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rawls tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rawls has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rawls goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Skogsbaer rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Rawls's guard! Nice work there by Skogsbaer!

Skogsbaer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Skogsbaer's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Skogsbaer duly obliges.
Skogsbaer throws a series of punches but Rawls avoids them all with ease.
John Rawls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skogsbaer scores with a one two! Rawls had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Skogsbaer looks to land a combination. Rawls sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Skogsbaer thuds a left hand into Rawls's body.
Skogsbaer lands with a straight right. Rawls didn't see that one coming.
Oh Rawls is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Skogsbaer Rushes Rawls and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Rawls is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Skogsbaer Piles on the pressure and Rawls crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jean Pierre Skogsbaer!
