Griffin kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Don't Waste My Time" by Jim Johnston. 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pirulito Bate Bate! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bate Bate shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Griffin is trying to defend but Bate Bate finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bate Bate is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Griffin! Bate Bate looking to finish Griffin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Griffin! Bate Bate landing shots from mount. Bate Bate in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Griffin is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bate Bate postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Griffin bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Bate Bate and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pirulito Bate Bate! After the fight, Pirulito Bate Bate was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. The defeated Marlon Griffin had this to say: 'The miracle is comin!'.
