Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Moe Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yury Vesnev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lester comes into the arena with Twisted blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lester wants it to stay on the feet.
Moe Lester seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lester keeps Vesnev at a distance using the push kick.
Lester throws a looping overhand right but Vesnev ducks down to avoid it.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Vesnev has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Vesnev does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Vesnev sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Vesnev stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lester.

Lester jabs Vesnev right on the nose. Vesnev blinks but takes it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vesnev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lester reaches up and holds on to Vesnev to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Yury Vesnev will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vesnev looks to throw the jab but Lester is out of range.
