PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Torben Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Satriani (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Torben Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Satriani!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Hemmingworth and Francis DeMontford.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Satriani slips a jab and a cross from Hansen.
Satriani shoots in for a double leg but Hansen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hansen has a takedown stuffed.
Hansen seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Satriani doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hansen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Satriani fails with a takedown attempt.
Torben Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Satriani.
Hansen scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Satriani misses with a double jab
and Hansen counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hansen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hansen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Satriani looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hansen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Satriani pinned against the cage. Satriani gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hansen darts in and clinches Satriani up against the cage.

Hansen is looking to break free of the clinch but Satriani has double underhooks.

Satriani breaks the clinch.
Satriani moves to clinch but Hansen breaks away

and Hansen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hansen.
Satriani is pushing Hansen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Hansen is trying to force a seperation but Satriani has the dominant position.
Satriani is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hansen to keep the fight standing.
Satriani lands with a right to the head.

Satriani tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hansen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Satriani tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hansen just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hansen drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Satriani putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Hansen in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hansen is struggling to control the position.

Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Satriani is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Satriani shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hansen as he avoids it easily.

Hansen shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hansen showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hansen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hansen passes into side control, despite Satriani's attempt to control the position.
Satriani wants to get back to his feet but Hansen is dominant here and he's now got Satriani's back!
Satriani tries to break free.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Satriani trying to control the position but Hansen manages to sink in the hooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Satriani wants to clinch
and Hansen counters with a nice body shot.
Horrible takedown by Hansen or perhaps it was just good defense by Satriani which made him look bad.
Torben Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hansen staying out of range there.
Hansen circles away from the clinch attempt
and Hansen counters with a two punch combo.
Hansen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Hansen misses with a two punch combination.
Satriani shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hansen as he avoids it easily.
Satriani is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hansen.
Satriani tries to clinch up but Hansen circles away and keeps his distance.
Torben Hansen is winning the standup battle so far.

Satriani wants to clinch but Hansen slips to the side
and Hansen counters with a three punch combo that has Satriani backing up. Satriani nods at Hansen to acknowledge the strikes.

Satriani is rocked!
Satriani tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Hansen counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Satriani badly! He tries to strike back but Hansen puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Satriani out cold! Oh man, Satriani will never hear the end of this one!
