Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leather Slammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hjalmar Thorhalla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Thorhalla's choice of entrance music: Disturbed / Down With The Sickness. Hjalmar Thorhalla has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Leather Slammer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hjalmar Thorhalla!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Thorhalla. No joy for Slammer on that attempt.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Thorhalla.
Slammer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Thorhalla counters with a head kick. That will keep Slammer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Slammer shoots in looking for a takedown. Thorhalla tries to sprawl out of it but Slammer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thorhalla manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leather Slammer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thorhalla moves into the clinch.
Thorhalla has Slammer pressed against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Slammer is trying to drag Thorhalla to the mat but Thorhalla just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Thorhalla's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Slammer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Slammer takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Slammer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Thorhalla's waist but Thorhalla gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slammer off to one side.
Slammer shoots in for a takedown but Thorhalla shows good takedown defense.
Thorhalla moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Thorhalla has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Slammer wants to take the fight to the mat but Thorhalla manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Slammer walks into a jab.
Slammer pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Slammer shoots in and drives through. Thorhalla sprawls well.
Slammer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Thorhalla stuffs the takedown.
Slammer is breathing heavily.
Slammer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thorhalla but Thorhalla pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Thorhalla displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slammer.
Slammer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thorhalla is fending him off so far but Slammer persists. Nope, Thorhalla circles away and we're back to standing.

Thorhalla rushes Slammer and presses him up against the cage.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Slammer. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Thorhalla pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Thorhalla lands a head kick. Slammer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Slammer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thorhalla as he avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thorhalla rushes Slammer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A short body shot lands from Thorhalla as the two fighters clinch.
Thorhalla breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Thorhalla drives through with a takedown into guard.
Slammer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Slammer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thorhalla throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Slammer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Slammer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Thorhalla has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Thorhalla avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Thorhalla won't allow Slammer to sweep him here.
Thorhalla would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Slammer had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thorhalla defends it easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Thorhalla is in close to Slammer's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've been hearing good reports from Slammer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Slammer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thorhalla can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Thorhalla lands a right hook to the body.
Oooooh!!! Thorhalla has knocked Slammer down with a huge combo! Thorhalla steps away and waves a wobbly Slammer back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Thorhalla thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Slammer if he has to take too many more of those.
Slammer shoots in but Thorhalla avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Slammer tries to score a body lock takedown but Thorhalla shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Slammer walks forward, straight into a front kick from Thorhalla.
Thorhalla gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Thorhalla manages to break the clinch.
Slammer seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Thorhalla shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Slammer is backing up but Thorhalla catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Slammer covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Thorhalla Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hjalmar Thorhalla!
Hjalmar Thorhalla very nearly forgot to thank Perkele! amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
