The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruke dives in and grabs Palowakski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Palowakski pushes down on Ruke's head and hops out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ruke goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Palowakski turns into him and now he's in Ruke's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
We're going to have a standup here because Fred Palowakski wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Ruke shoots in looking for a takedown but Palowakski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ruke's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Palowakski postures up in Ruke's guard and throws a big left but Ruke blocks it.

Ruke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Palowakski manages to get himself to full guard.

Ruke lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Palowakski!
Palowakski takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Ruke goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Palowakski turns into him and now he's in Ruke's guard.

Ruke drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ruke seems to have locked his on tight now - Palowakski screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ruke, as he picks up the win!
