Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eerik Rikkonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aamer Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eerik Rikkonen could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Aamer Khan's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Khan rushes Rikkonen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Rikkonen's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rikkonen looking to stall.
Khan can't break the clinch.
Khan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Khan manages to end up in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Khan is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rikkonen's shoulder. That is not cool. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Khan lands an elbow. Rikkonen struggling a bit here. Khan tries to advance to mount but Rikkonen denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rikkonen struggling a bit here. Khan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Rikkonen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Khan connects with a decent elbow. Rikkonen tries to escape but Khan is in control. Khan lands a few punches from side control. Khan takes a little break here. Rikkonen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Rikkonen can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan is looking to take a break and control but Rikkonen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Khan wants to stand but Rikkonen is controlling his arm. Khan working away. Rikkonen is looking to regain half guard here but Khan keeps moving and retains side control. Rikkonen is working hard here to advance position. Khan tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Rikkonen tries to clinch but Khan is having none of it. Khan shoots in for a takedown but Rikkonen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rikkonen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Khan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rikkonen.
Rikkonen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Khan circles away. Rikkonen moves out of range of the leg kick from Khan. Khan lands a nice shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rikkonen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Khan's waist but Khan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rikkonen off to one side. Rikkonen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Rikkonen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Khan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eerik Rikkonen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rikkonen is breathing heavily. Khan lands a nice shot to the body.
Rikkonen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rikkonen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Rikkonen throws a body punch but Khan moves out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khan shoots in but Rikkonen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Khan on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aamer Khan dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Khan tries to clinch but Rikkonen moves out of range. Khan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Khan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rikkonen is out of range and Khan settles back down. Rikkonen scores with a kick to the body.
Khan tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rikkonen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rikkonen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Khan sprawls well. Khan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rikkonen gets slowly back to his feet. Khan dives in and scores a takedown into Rikkonen's guard. Khan tries to free his leg and advance position but Rikkonen is retaining full guard. Khan works over Rikkonen with some ground and pound from guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rikkonen throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Khan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rikkonen is proving hard to escape from. Rikkonen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Khan defends well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Khan trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rikkonen's guard. Khan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Rikkonen trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rikkonen is on top in guard.
Rikkonen stopping the sweep attempt from Khan. Rikkonen stands up from Khan's guard - Rikkonen perhaps looking for a knockout. Rikkonen goes for a double leg but Khan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Khan continues to drive forward.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Khan tries to pull guard but Rikkonen holds him up against the cage and eventually Khan drops back down to his feet.
Rikkonen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Khan wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Rikkonen tries for a takedown but Khan manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eerik Rikkonen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rikkonen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Khan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Khan wants to stand up but Rikkonen is controlling the position.
Khan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rikkonen keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rikkonen slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Khan looking to sit in guard and control but Rikkonen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rikkonen trying to control but Khan is working from the bottom. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Khan wants to stand up but Rikkonen is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aamer Khan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rikkonen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Khan, pushing him back against the cage. Khan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Rikkonen is pressed up against the cage. Khan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rikkonen down to the mat. Rikkonen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rikkonen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Khan tries to avoid it but Rikkonen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Khan to the ground. Khan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Khan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rikkonen as he jumps to the side. Khan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rikkonen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Rikkonen gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Rikkonen trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Khan tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Rikkonen. Khan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rikkonen has one foot on Khan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Khan shoots in for a double leg but Rikkonen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Eerik Rikkonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aamer Khan. Rikkonen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Khan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rikkonen somewhat. Khan fails with a takedown attempt. Rikkonen shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Khan throws a head kick that misses. Rikkonen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Khan circles away. Khan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rikkonen eats them both and turns towards Khan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Rikkonen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rikkonen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Khan as he avoids it easily. Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rikkonen but Rikkonen pushes him off and we're back to square one. Rikkonen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Khan. Rikkonen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rikkonen misses with a takedown attempt - Khan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Khan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rikkonen!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rikkonen sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Khan is thwarting Rikkonen's attempts to control the position. Khan trying to mount his opponent but Rikkonen defends it. The fighters are battling for position here. Rikkonen manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Rikkonen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rikkonen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Khan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rikkonen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Khan has managed to get both his arms back between Rikkonen's legs - danger averted.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rikkonen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rikkonen looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Khan trying to control the position from guard on top but Rikkonen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Khan wants to get up but he can't break Rikkonen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rikkonen is pulling down on Khan's head. It's preventing any offense from Khan, at least for the moment. Khan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Rikkonen is proving hard to escape from.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Eerik Rikkonen. Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
