The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellison circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ellison is looking to clinch but Paulson is avoiding it.
Paulson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Paulson misses with a low kick as Ellison jumps back.
No joy there for Paulson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paulson lands a two punch combo.
Paulson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Paulson lands in his opponent's guard.
Paulson trying to control the position from guard on top but Ellison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ellison is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Paulson wants to control but Ellison is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ellison escapes and gets back to his feet.
Ellison gets caught flat footed, as Paulson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Ellison is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Paulson rolls with it to try and escape but Ellison cranks on the arm and Paulson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
