Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clyde Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Nicholls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Beyonce feat. Jay Z - Bonnie & Clyde blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dean Nicholls! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nicholls connects with a leg kick. Jones looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. No joy there for Nicholls, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nicholls as he jumps to the side. Jones takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard. Jones is fighting to break Nicholls's control of his arms but Nicholls is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Jones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jones trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nicholls trying to control the position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones with a flurry of punches that miss. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. We've been hearing that Jones has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Jones in side control, throwing shots but Nicholls defends. Jones working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nicholls is trying to control Jones's posture but Jones avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nicholls is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control. Jones misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones swings around for an armbar but Nicholls sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jones's guard. Nicholls lands a couple of decent looking shots. Nicholls is looking to work some ground and pound but Jones has wrist control. Nicholls throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Nicholls wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones working for a triangle but Nicholls defends it easily.
Jones looking for a sweep. Not yet Jones, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nicholls trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nicholls doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nicholls manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nicholls. Nicholls lands a couple of decent looking shots. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nicholls doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nicholls manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones looking for a guillotine here but Nicholls defends easily.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nicholls is one step ahead there. Nicholls distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Nicholls lands a couple of elbows. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nicholls defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nicholls content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nicholls gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nicholls distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jones working for a triangle but Nicholls defends it easily.
Jones has momentary wrist control but Nicholls slips an elbow through the middle. Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nicholls has managed to free his arm - good work. Nicholls is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nicholls avoid being mounted? Jones working Nicholls over with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The fighters are battling for position here. Nicholls manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Nicholls looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Jones postures up.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Nicholls looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nicholls looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there. Jones passes Nicholls's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nicholls sees it coming and defends easily. Nicholls is trying to control but can't.
Nicholls keeps control of the position for the meantime. Nicholls is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Clyde Jones will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nicholls sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat. Nicholls thumps Jones with a low kick. Nicholls throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Nicholls has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Nicholls tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jones avoids it. Nicholls lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nicholls. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Nicholls creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Nicholls just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nicholls with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Nicholls lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Jones is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Nicholls to keep the fight standing. Jones jumps guard but Nicholls stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clyde Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nicholls throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nicholls scores with a nice hook to the head. A short uppercut from Nicholls. Nicholls gets through Jones's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nicholls is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now. Nicholls scores with a nice hook to the head. Nicholls has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile. Nicholls pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Nicholls pushes Jones back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Nicholls lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nicholls prevents the takedown attempt.
Nicholls lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Nicholls throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. A nice right hand lands inside from Nicholls. Dean Nicholls seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Nicholls lands with a left to the head. Nicholls scores with a nice hook to the head. Nicholls lands a left hand.
Nicholls lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Jones to his knees! Nicholls keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
