The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Hertzell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Von Hertzell misses with the combination.
Viljo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Evald Von Hertzell has been cut.

and Von Hertzell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Von Hertzell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Viljo just stands there and leans against the cage.
Von Hertzell goes for a takedown in the clinch but Viljo prevents it.

Viljo is looking to break free of the clinch but Von Hertzell has double underhooks.

Von Hertzell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Von Hertzell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Von Hertzell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Viljo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Von Hertzell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Viljo's back instead.
Viljo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Von Hertzell's guard. Nice work there by Viljo.
Viljo passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Von Hertzell tries to bench press Viljo off him but Viljo keeps the position.

Viljo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Viljo wants to stand and escape but Von Hertzell is having none of it.

Von Hertzell stays in close to Viljo's body and controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Von Hertzell connects with a couple of short punches.
Viljo avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Von Hertzell drops back looking for a leg! Viljo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Viljo manages to kick Von Hertzell off! Von Hertzell jumps back into Viljo's guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Viljo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Von Hertzell paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Von Hertzell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Viljo wants to get back to full guard.

Von Hertzell in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Viljo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Von Hertzell!
