Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
41 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Charles Martel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Bronze! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martel misses with a few strikes there.
Martel throws a shot from downtown. Bronze moves away and avoids it. Martel thows a body shot but no joy. Martel drives through and clinches with Bronze against the cage.
Bronze looking to stall.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Martel misses with a punch to the body.
Bronze struggles to land a body shot inside as Martel controls his hands.
Bronze lands with a right to the head. Martel misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A frustrated look appears on Martel's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bronze lands a left hand that snaps the head of Martel backwards. Martel content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Martel blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Martel presses Bronze against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Bronze has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Martel uses from the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Charles Martel just wasn't active enough. Bronze scores with a leg kick.
Charles Martel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bronze fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Bronze ducks right into an uppercut from Martel. Martel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Martel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bronze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Martel keeping moving, preventing Bronze from controlling successfully. Bronze tries to free his leg and advance position but Martel is retaining full guard. Martel is controlling Bronze's posture. Martel wants to stand up but Bronze is controlling him. Bronze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bronze postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Martel is pulling down on Bronze's head to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bronze missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bronze wants to control from the top but Martel keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Martel takes a swing at Bronze's ribcage but misses. A slow jab from Martel misses its intended target. Martel is looking to land body kicks. Bronze takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Martel throws a lazy right hand but Bronze sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Martel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bronze takes one to the side of the head.
Martel throws a hook but Bronze avoids it easily. Martel lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bronze will feel that in the morning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martel throws a body punch but Bronze moves out of range. Martel misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bronze.

and Bronze counters with a straight punch to the midsection. A low kick from Martel misses and Bronze counters with a single leg into guard. Martel didn't expect that. This has been an exciting period of action! Bronze trying to control the position from guard on top but Martel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bronze pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Martel is keeping the position for now. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bronze wants to control from the top but Martel keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Charles Martel will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Martel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bronze. Martel looks for the body kick but Bronze saw that one coming. Martel fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bronze checks it well. Bronze is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Martel misses the shot to the body. Bronze feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Martel's calf. Bronze scores with a shot to the body.
Martel misses with a wild body shot. Martel pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Martel connects with a jab. Horrible takedown by Bronze or perhaps it was just good defense by Martel which made him look bad. A shot to the body from Martel misses and Bronze counters with a right hand to the body. Charles Martel is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martel throws a sloppy body shot
and Bronze counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bronze looks to land a left hand but Martel moved out of range nicely. Bronze moves out of range as Martel throws a body kick.
Martel stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. A punch combination from Martel misses. Martel throws a combination that misses and Bronze counters with a left to the body. Martel gets off balance looking for a body kick and Bronze counters with a slapping leg kick. Martel looks to land a combination. Bronze sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Bronze is rocked! Martel misses with a hook
and Bronze makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Bronze is still on wobbly legs! Can Martel finish him? Bronze fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bronze seems to have recovered his senses. Martel throws a right hand that misses
and Bronze counters with a nice body shot. Bronze turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A chopping leg kick lands by Martel.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martel scores with a hook to the body. Bronze takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Martel looks to score with a jab to the body but Bronze is just out of range. Martel throws a lazy uppercut
and Bronze counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bronze circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Bronze counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bronze uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martel.
Martel misses the jab. Martel is looking to wear down Bronze with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Bronze avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick by Martel misses and Bronze counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bronze moves out of range of the leg kick from Martel. Martel throws a sloppy body shot
and Bronze counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bronze scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Martel throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bronze. Martel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Martel misses with an uppercut. Bronze swings for the body but Martel moves out of range.

Martel takes a swing at Bronze's ribcage but misses. Martel throws a jab but it's blocked by Bronze. Martel throws a low kick but Bronze avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bronze slips a straight right by Martel. A lazy body kick from Martel and Bronze counters with a nice uppercut. Martel throws a right and a left that both miss. Martel looks to score with a jab to the body but Bronze is just out of range. Martel misses with a low kick. Martel lands a jab to Bronze's midsection. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bronze. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Martel lands a leg kick that knocks Bronze off balance momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Martel misses with a jab to the body
and Martel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bronze.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Martel dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Bronze displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Martel throws out the jab. Bronze avoids the body shot from Martel.
Bronze has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Martel misses the shot to the body. Bronze connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Martel misses with a wild body shot. Martel takes a swing at Bronze's ribcage but misses. Bronze takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Martel misses with a jab to the body
and Bronze counters with a one-two to the body. Bronze checks a leg kick. A low kick from Martel is predictable there enabling Bronze to counter with a crisp jab. Bronze takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Bronze keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bronze takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Martel throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Bronze dodges the punch combination from Martel.
Martel leaves Bronze with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bronze punishes Martel's body with a nice straight punch. Martel throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Martel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Bronze is looking to improve his position.
Bronze works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martel controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mr Bronze has got the better of the ground game so far. Bronze has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Martel can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bronze wants to sweep here but Martel controlling him for the moment. Martel trying to control the position from guard on top but Bronze is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We're going to have a standup here because Charles Martel wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A head kick misses from Martel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martel works Bronze's body with a nice hook. Martel swings for the body but Bronze moves out of range.
Martel misses with a shot to the body and Bronze counters with a nice body shot. Martel misses the shot to the body. Martel misses with a shot to the body and Bronze counters with a lovely shot to the body. Bronze uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Martel.
Martel misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bronze counters with a nice double leg into side control. Martel won't be happy with that. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Bronze working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Bronze misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Martel is trying to get back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bronze wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martel keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Martel regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bronze's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Martel wants to get back to full guard. Mr Bronze has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bronze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Martel manages to get to full guard.
Bronze's corner is telling him to maintain position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martel looking for a sweep. Not yet Martel, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charles Martel. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
