Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dewayne Bryant!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMario Williams!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Williams dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bryant takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Williams fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bryant manages to avoid it.
Bryant ducks right into an uppercut from Williams.
Williams throws a shot to the body.

Williams instigates a clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Williams.
Williams lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bryant or not.
Williams digs a right hand underneath Bryant's ribcage. Bryant let out a lung full of air as it connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bryant tries to pull guard but Williams won't allow it.
Bryant misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Williams.
Bryant has had enough of the clinch but Williams keeps him there for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bryant backwards.
Williams lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Bryant really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Still in the clinch, Williams scores with a nice short uppercut.
Williams is working Bryant over against the cage.
Bryant is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Bryant's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A left hand lands to the body for Williams.
Williams lands a hook to the side of the head.
Williams lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Williams lands with a light punch inside.
Williams pushes Bryant back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Bryant is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dewayne Bryant. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A left hand lands to the body for Williams.
Williams throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bryants head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bryant's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Williams makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Williams lands a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams digs a right hand into Bryant's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Bryant's gas tank.
Nice body punch from Williams - that landed with a thud.

Bryant wants the takedown. Williams is fighting it off but Bryant persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Williams's guard against the cage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bryant wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

Bryant is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Williams looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Bryant stopping the sweep attempt from Williams.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams keeps trying to improve his position.
Bryant looking to pass the guard.
Williams has control of Bryant's left arm, preventing Bryant from doing any damage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. DeMario Williams hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bryant walks into a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bryant avoids the head kick by Williams.
Williams tests Bryant's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bryant takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Williams connects with a good right hand that stumbles Bryant. Bryant circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


Bryant is rocked!
Williams digs a good hook to Bryant's body.
Oh Bryant is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bryant looks up at the clock. Bad move! Williams lands a right hand from hell, dropping Bryant. Williams pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DeMario Williams!
DeMario Williams is the new featherweight champion!
After winning the bout, DeMario Williams thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
