Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thor Hushovd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy Watson looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Thor Hushovd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of London, Billy Watson! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Watson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Watson dodges the punch combination from Hushovd.
Watson shoots in for a double leg but Hushovd sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Watson misses with a hook. Hushovd bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hushovd remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hushovd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hushovd has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson is trying to get back to his feet. Hushovd tries to move into full mount but can't pass Watson's legs. Hushovd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Watson struggling a bit here. Watson looks gassed! Hushovd tries to move to mount but Watson blocks the move with his legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Watson is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hushovd with a poor takedown and Watson counters with a shoot takedown. Hushovd fights it but they end up in guard. Hushovd is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hushovd is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hushovd is pressing down on Watson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Watson is holding on for now. Hushovd is working for a kimura but Watson is defending it quite comfortably.
Hushovd wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Hushovd tries to close the distance and clinch but Watson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hushovd darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Watson is trying to stand.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Watson wants to control but Hushovd is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hushovd not doing much here.
Watson is positioning himself well to prevent Hushovd advancing to mount. Hushovd is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Watson is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hushovd stops Watson from getting back to his feet.
Hushovd decides to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Thor Hushovd will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hushovd misses with a takedown attempt and Watson counters with a straight right hand. Hushovd closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hushovd lands in his opponent's guard. Hushovd won't allow Watson to sweep him here. Hushovd stands and steps away. Watson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A kick lands to the mid section there for Hushovd. Hushovd fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Watson, pushing him back against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hushovd tries to pull guard but Watson won't allow it.
Hushovd has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Watson uses from the top position. Hushovd has a closed guard, preventing Watson from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hushovd seems keen to control Watson's posture. Hushovd trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Hushovd is trying to control the position but Watson postures up. Hushovd throws his legs up looking for a submission but Watson uses it to pass to side control.
Hushovd tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Watson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Watson controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hushovd is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Watson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Watson decides to stand back up. Watson steps back and let's Hushovd get back to his feet. A punch combination from Watson misses. Hushovd throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Watson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hushovd's guard. Watson wants to control from the top but Hushovd keeps moving. Hushovd has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Watson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Watson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hushovd fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hushovd looks to land a combination. Watson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Watson tries to clinch but Hushovd is having none of it. Watson avoids the body shot from Hushovd.
Watson tries to clinch but Hushovd moves away and Hushovd counters into the clinch. Nicely done. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Hushovd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Watson smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thor Hushovd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hushovd shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Watson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Watson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hushovd shoots in and drives through. Watson sprawls well. Watson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hushovd paws at him with a jab and circles away. Watson lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Hushovd backs up against the cage.
Hushovd fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hushovd is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Watson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Watson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

and Watson counters with a single leg into guard. Hushovd didn't expect that. Watson trying to control but Hushovd is working from the bottom. Hushovd has his feet on Watson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Hushovd tries for a takedown but Watson circles away easily and Watson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hushovd! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Watson trying to control but Hushovd is having none of it. Hushovd is desperately trying to improve his position but Watson has a good base and remains in mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Watson wants to control the pace but Hushovd is squirming around nicely. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Watson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Hushovd wants to hold on but Watson pushes him away. Watson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Watson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hushovd because Watson loaded up on that one. Hushovd keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Watson controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hushovd wants to control but Watson is having none of it. Watson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hushovd is looking to improve his position but Watson isn't that keen on the idea. Watson looking to control but Hushovd is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Watson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Despite being in the dominant position, Billy Watson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Watson throws a right and a left that both miss. A right-left combo lands from Hushovd. Hushovd misses with a takedown attempt - Watson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Watson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hushovd lands with a slapping head kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Hushovd looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hushovd fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thor Hushovd. That's going to take a lot out of him. No joy there for Watson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hushovd on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
And that's the end of the fight! Billy Watson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Watson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
