The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Evans is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Evans tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shore paws at him with a jab and circles away. Nice sprawl there from Shore as Evans shoots in. Evans lands with a nice body punch. Evans misses with a two punch combination.
Evans lands with a straight right. Shore didn't see that one coming. The fight stays on the outside here - Evans looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Evans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keith Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him. Evans doesn't manage to clinch there - Shore circles away.
Shore drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Evans is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shore trying to control the position from guard on top but Evans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shore postures up and lands a big shot to Evans's brow. Shore postures up in Evans's guard and throws a big left but Evans blocks it. Evans is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Shore is working Evans over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Evans looking for a sweep. Not yet Evans, not yet. Shore must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shore wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving. Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shore doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shore manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Evans is breathing heavily. Shore lands a couple of digs. Shore with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Evans might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shore trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Shore scoring with some ground and pound.
Evans is rocked! Shore working some strikes from top position. Oh Evans is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shore postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Evans covers up, he's hurt! Shore keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Shore and the ref steps in to end the fight! Shore can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
