Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Woohun Do! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jay Wilkins! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wilkins uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Do. Do throws a low kick but Wilkins moves out of range easily. Do fails to land with a series of punches.
Do just misses with a punch to the body.
Wilkins throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wilkins fails to land the takedown. Do throws a leg kick so Wilkins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wilkins postures up.
Wilkins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wilkins throwing strikes from guard but Do blocks nicely. Do lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wilkins! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wilkins is looking to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wilkins regains half guard. Wilkins has one foot on Do's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Do throws a body punch but Wilkins moves out of range. Wilkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Woohun Do seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wilkins is trying hard to land a takedown here. Do sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Wilkins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Do circles away quickly and effectively. Wilkins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Do to the ground. Wilkins is now in Do's guard. Wilkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Do swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've been hearing good reports from Do's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Wilkins tries to stand but Do is controlling from the bottom. Do keeping moving, preventing Wilkins from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilkins preventing the sweep. Wilkins gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wilkins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Woohun Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Wilkins. A jab from Do misses. Wilkins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Do. That did some damage! Wilkins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Do sprawls well. Do wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wilkins gets slowly back to his feet. Do fails with the takedown. Wilkins slips a jab and a cross from Do.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Do pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Do throws a combination. Wilkins tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Jay Wilkins has been cut. Do throws a body punch but Wilkins moves out of range. A swing and a miss from Do. Do paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Do swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Do looks to land a right hand but Wilkins moved out of range. Wilkins throws a right and a left that Do avoids nicely. Wilkins shoots in but Do avoids the takedown attempt easily. Wilkins tries a head kick but it misses.
Wilkins misses with a low kick. Wilkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Do.
Wilkins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Do to the ground. Wilkins is now in Do's guard. Do tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Do bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wilkins's guard. Do won't allow Wilkins to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilkins manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Do is looking to get to half guard. Wilkins landing strikes from the mount. Wilkins throws a sloppy strike and Do uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Do has ended up in Wilkins's guard.
Wilkins controls Do momentarily but Do frees himself. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Do with a nice head shot there. Do throwing strikes but missing. Wilkins is trying to keep Do in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jay Wilkins dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jay Wilkins's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Wilkins uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Do. Wilkins dives in and scores a takedown into Do's guard. Wilkins preventing the sweep. Wilkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Do swivels though and keeps the full guard. Do keeping moving, preventing Wilkins from controlling successfully. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wilkins throwing strikes but missing. Do preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wilkins is looking to advance position but Do has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
That's one minute gone in the round. Do working Wilkins over with strikes here. Wilkins wants to hold on but Do pushes him away. Wilkins can't escape the position.
Wilkins holds on for dear life, controlling Do's posture momentarily. Wilkins is in all sorts of trouble here.
Do fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Do landing punches. Do breaks from Wilkins's wrist control and lands an elbow. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wilkins is trying to escape the mount.

Wilkins is rocked! Wilkins is looking to improve his position but Do isn't that keen on the idea. Wilkins is still in real trouble! Can Do finish him? Oooooh, big shot lands for Do! Wilkins is hurt baaadly! Do is firing away with more strikes - Wilkins is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Woohun Do! Woohun Do decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
