Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Braun Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a lunging right hand

and Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Smith doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Silva won't allow Smith to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva stops Smith from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Braun Silva just wasn't active enough.
Smith connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands.

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.

Smith seems a little lost for a moment, as Silva dominates the positioning.

Silva tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well.

Silva slows the pace down.
Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Smith has left one of his arms exposed and Silva doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smith screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
