Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Conner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Jigster! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jigster, pushing him back against the cage. Jigster looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Conner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Jigster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Conner pulls him back up using the underhooks. A right handed body shot lands from Conner.
Conner makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Conner trying to land knees to the body.
Conner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Conner lands a body punch in the clinch. Conner slows down the pace here.
A short left from Conner. Conner lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jigster backwards. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! With the fighters clinched against the cage, Conner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Conner is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jigster is defending well for now. Conner lands with a left to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jigster takes a shot to the head. Jigster's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Conner has picked Jigster up - he's going for a ride! Conner dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Conner wants to stand up but Jigster has a hold of him and won't allow it. Conner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Conner is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryan Conner. Conner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conner takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Ryan Conner wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jigster gets tackled into the cage by Conner. Conner maintains the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Conner lands a body shot. Conner lands with a short shot to the head. Conner lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jigster backwards.
Jigster is rocked! Conner throws a head punch that misses. Jigster is still on wobbly legs! Can Conner finish him? Conner misses with a hook from the clinch. Conner misses with a hook from the clinch. Conner misses with a short punch on the inside. Conner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Conner thows a left - swing and a miss! Conner throws a looping overhand right but Jigster ducks down to avoid it. Conner throws a big shot that misses. Jigster has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Conner is landing a low percentage of strikes. Conner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jigster. Conner swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Conner missing with a left hand there. Jigster was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Conner throws an overhand right that lands on Jigster's shoulder, as Jigster tries to avoid the shot. Jigster staying out of range there. Conner closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Conner throws a head punch that misses. A head punch blocked on the inside by Jigster. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jigster blocking some punches.
Conner turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Conner manages to end up in side control. Conner decides to stand back up. Conner misses with an uppercut. Jigster saw that one coming. A jab from Conner misses. Conner throws a big shot that misses. Conner looks to land a right hand but Jigster moved out of range. Conner misses with an uppercut. A slow jab from Conner misses its intended target. Conner misses with a hook. Jigster ducked under it nicely. Conner throws an overhand right that lands on Jigster's shoulder, as Jigster tries to avoid the shot. A swing and a miss from Conner. Conner throws a leg kick which misses Jigster's front leg but catches the back leg as Jigster tries to avoid it. Jigster displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Conner throws out the jab. Conner waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jigster. Conner throws a jab but it's blocked by Jigster. Jigster slips under a jab from Conner. Jigster ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A swing and a miss from Conner. Conner misses with a straight right. Jigster steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Conner. A telegraphed right hand from Conner misses the target. Jigster staying out of range there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Conner looks to throw the jab but Jigster is out of range. Ryan Conner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Conner throws a perfectly timed hook that sends Jigster crashing down! Jigster tries to stagger back to his feet but Conner just hammers him until the ref stops the fight! A confused Jigster asks the ref what just happened. Poor fella.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Conner!
