The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negi is looking to clinch but GM is avoiding it.

GM pushes Negi up against the cage in a clinch.
GM wants to break the clinch but can't.
GM really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Negi lands a body punch.
GM lands a hook that snaps the head of Negi backwards.
I was talking to GM's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
GM tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Negi misses with the head strike.
Negi misses with some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Negi.
GM breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Negi lands with an uppercut that bounces GM off the cage and back into range.
No luck for GM with that takedown attempt.
GM shoots in for a double leg but Negi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Simon GM. That's going to take a lot out of him.
GM walks into a jab.

GM keeps the fight on the outside.

Negi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Oh GM is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Negi ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with GM's jaw. GM's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Negi does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
