Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Kirkpatrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Habil Bictashev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Habil Bictashev is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rory Kirkpatrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Habil Bictashev!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bictashev instigates a clinch.

Kirkpatrick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bictashev pushes Kirkpatrick back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Kirkpatrick is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bictashev defends it well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bictashev can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kirkpatrick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bictashev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kirkpatrick, into his guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Bictashev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirkpatrick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kirkpatrick escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bictashev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kirkpatrick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bictashev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bictashev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've been informed that Bictashev has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Habil Bictashev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
