Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Enzo Galasso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Lima's choice of entrance music: DMX - Ain't no sunshine. Douglas Lima has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Enzo Galasso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Douglas Lima!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Illya Tyunina and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lima dives in and scores a takedown into Galasso's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Galasso is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lima pushes down on Galasso's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lima tries to pass the half guard into mount. Galasso knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Lima looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Lima takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

It looks like Lima might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Galasso will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Lima connects with a leg kick. Galasso looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
No joy there for Galasso, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Galasso tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lima smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enzo Galasso. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lima goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Galasso misses with a few strikes there.

Lima throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Galasso was covering up waiting for the punch and Lima finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lima seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Lima is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Galasso will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Galasso tries to get to full guard but Lima has control of the leg.
Lima moves into full mount! Galasso won't be happy about that!

Let's hope that Lima has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Galasso can't escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Galasso is working hard here to advance position.

Douglas Lima showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Lima closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Galasso to the mat! Galasso manages to get full guard.

Galasso working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lima doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lima manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Lima sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Galasso's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Douglas Lima comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lima has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Douglas Lima was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
