Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bert Starius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klyde Bashor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starius misses with a series of wild punches.
Bashor scores with a one two! Starius had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Bert Starius has been cut.
Bashor defending well as Starius loads up on a big left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Starius. Bashor does a little dance to reset his feet.
Starius stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Starius wants it to stay on the feet.
Starius displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bashor.
Bashor shoots in but Starius avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bert Starius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klyde Bashor.

Bashor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Starius's head.
Starius knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bashor on the ground.

Bashor is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Starius defends it well.
Bashor has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Bashor prevents Starius from getting the reversal.
Bashor jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Starius is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Starius and Bashor has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Starius will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A jab from Starius finds it's way through Bashor's defenses.
Bashor lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Starius is rocked!
Starius leaves his chin hanging out and Bashor seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Starius crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
