Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Guy Hozanto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aamer Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Guy Hozanto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aamer Khan!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan shoots in looking for a takedown. Hozanto tries to sprawl out of it but Khan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hozanto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hozanto is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Hozanto misses with a takedown attempt - Khan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hozanto as he avoids it easily.
Khan tries to clinch there but Hozanto circles away.
Hozanto seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Khan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hozanto circles away.
Guy Hozanto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aamer Khan.
Hozanto is looking to clinch but Khan is avoiding it.

Hozanto clinches up with Khan and pushes him back against the cage.
Hozanto gets underhooks to prevent Khan's takedown attempt.
Hozanto tries to pull guard but Khan holds him up against the cage and eventually Hozanto drops back down to his feet.
Khan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hozanto walks away with a smile on his face. Khan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hozanto throws a combination that misses
and Khan counters with a nice body kick.

Khan scores with a takedown into Hozanto's guard.
Khan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hozanto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hozanto had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Khan defends it easily.
Khan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hozanto is proving hard to escape from.

Hozanto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Khan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Khan throws a strike but Hozanto rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hozanto stays in close to Khan's body and controls the position.

Khan controls Hozanto momentarily but Hozanto frees himself.
Hozanto throws a big right hand that misses.
Khan is adopting a defensive guard.
Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hozanto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Let's hope that Khan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Guy Hozanto just wasn't active enough.
Khan shoots in but no luck this time.
Khan tries a head kick but it misses.
Guy Hozanto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan closes the distance looking to clinch

and Hozanto holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Khan fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Khan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hozanto is defending well.
Khan looks winded!
Khan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Hozanto to keep the fight standing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Khan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hozanto gets the underhooks and prevents it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Aamer Khan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hozanto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hozanto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Hozanto blocks the body kick.
Khan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Khan shoots in looking for a takedown but Hozanto manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Khan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fighters circling - Khan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Khan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hozanto pinned against the cage. Hozanto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hozanto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khan is breathing heavily.

Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hozanto is controlling Khan's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Khan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hozanto defends it nicely.

Hozanto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hozanto wants it to stay on the feet.

Hozanto shoots in but Khan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Khan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hozanto.
Hozanto tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range.
Hozanto shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Khan sprawls well. Khan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hozanto gets slowly back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Khan is defended easily by Hozanto.
Hozanto closes the distance and clinches up with Khan, looking for a takedown. Hozanto pushes Khan against the cage but Khan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Hozanto ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hozanto no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hozanto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Khan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hozanto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Khan controls the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Khan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Khan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

A close second round but Aamer Khan will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Khan feints and then cracks Hozanto's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hozanto down.

Khan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hozanto swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hozanto has his foot on Khan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Khan works his way back into a safe position though.
Khan tries to free his leg and advance position but Hozanto is retaining full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Khan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hozanto smiles and moves away.

and Khan counters with a one-two to the body.
Khan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hozanto circles away.
Khan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hozanto misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hozanto throws a left and a right that both miss
and Khan counters with a series of strikes. Hozanto will be more careful next time no doubt.
Hozanto shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Khan has taken the fight to the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Hozanto's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Khan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hozanto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Khan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aamer Khan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Khan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A determined Aamer Khan didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
