The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lancaster shoots in looking for a takedown but Denson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lancaster's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Horrible takedown by Lancaster or perhaps it was just good defense by Denson which made him look bad.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Avro Lancaster hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Lancaster manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Denson on his heels. He'll look to pass Denson's guard now, I'm sure.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Lancaster working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
