Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joshua Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Willy Hicks! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez feints and then cracks Hicks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hicks down. Hicks misses with a double jab
and Perez counters with a thumping low kick. Perez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hicks has time to react. Hicks throws a predictable looking body shot
and Perez counters with a slapping leg kick. Hicks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Perez. Joshua Perez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez lands a big head kick that sends Hicks to the canvas! Perez follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
