Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Velasqs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Cain Velasqs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 50 - 1, fighting out of London, Goran Schwarzeneg!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasqs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Schwarzeneg moves forwards but Velasqs connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Velasqs jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Velasqs lands with an overhand left.
Schwarzeneg chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Velasqs can pounce on him.
Velasqs pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Schwarzeneg back to the cage. Velasqs follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Schwarzeneg tries to clinch but Velasqs is having none of it.
Velasqs scores with a punch to the head.
Schwarzeneg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Velasqs paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Schwarzeneg takes a jab right on the kisser.
Velasqs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Velasqs throws out a powerful jab.
Goran Schwarzeneg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, jab by Schwarzeneg - just one landing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Velasqs, right into the meat.
Velasqs moves out of range as Schwarzeneg strikes.
Schwarzeneg fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schwarzeneg clobbers Velasqs with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Cain Velasqs has been cut.
Velasqs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Schwarzeneg tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Schwarzeneg gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Schwarzeneg throws a hook to the side of Velasqs's head but Velasqs sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Velasqs lands with a right hand.
Velasqs lands a nice looking body shot.
Velasqs scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Velasqs dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice defenses there by Velasqs.

Schwarzeneg closes the distance and pushes Velasqs back into the cage.

Velasqs pulls guard effortlessly.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Velasqs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Velasqs is looking for a triangle but Schwarzeneg pushes his legs off easily.

Velasqs is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Schwarzeneg defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Velasqs is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've been hearing good reports from Velasqs's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Velasqs has his foot on Schwarzeneg's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schwarzeneg works his way back into a safe position though.
Velasqs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Velasqs is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Schwarzeneg is aware though and is defending well.
Schwarzeneg is looking to stand up but Velasqs won't let him.

Velasqs working for a triangle but Schwarzeneg defends it easily.

Velasqs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Schwarzeneg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Schwarzeneg content to stall in guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Schwarzeneg wants to control from the top but Velasqs keeps moving.

Velasqs is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Schwarzeneg frees his head nicely. Oh but Velasqs has switched to an armbar! Schwarzeneg is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Cain Velasqs!
After winning the bout, Cain Velasqs thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
