Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Marco Aerts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Marin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aerts comes to the ring accompanied by Pitbull - Timber. Marin has chosen Berzerk as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marco Aerts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocky Marin! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marin throws a poor cross that misses
and Aerts counters with a nice leg kick. Aerts closes the distance and clinches. Marin blocks an elbow strike. Aerts pushes Marin back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Aerts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Aerts forces Marin back against the ropes and clinches. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Aerts. Nice elbow from Aerts.
It looks like Rocky Marin has been cut. Aerts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Aerts misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Aerts gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Marin has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Aerts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Aerts thows a leg kick but Marin checks it and Marin counters with a body kick that stops Aerts in his tracks momentarily. Aerts throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Aerts lands a right hook to the body.
Aerts has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Marin finds it's way round the side to connect with Aerts's head. Marin gets tackled into the ropes by Aerts. Aerts maintains the clinch. Aerts lands a body punch in the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Marin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Aerts blocks it with crossed arms. With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Aerts just misses with a elbow thrown towards Marin's brow. Marin blocks an elbow strike from Aerts.

Aerts lands a nice knee to the body. Marin looks winded! Aerts is working Marin over against the ropes. Aerts breaks the clinch.
Aerts clinches up against the ropes. A short left from Aerts. Aerts lands a right hand. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Aerts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That kick from Aerts tenderised Marin's leg. Marin is trying to keep his angry face on. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marco Aerts dominated that round. The cut man is working on Rocky Marin's cut. That's time! Aerts's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Aerts tries to clinch up. Aerts lands with a kick to the temple. Marin shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Marco Aerts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marco Aerts is winning the standup battle so far. Aerts rushes Marin and presses him up against the ropes. Marin dodges an elbow strike from Aerts.

Aerts lands a hook to the side of the head. Aerts using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Marco Aerts has scored more points in the clinch so far. Marin is breathing heavily. Aerts lands a good knee to the midsection. Marin won't want to take too many of those.

Aerts darts in and clinches Marin up against the ropes. Aerts keeps control of Marin as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Aerts is struggling to control the position. Aerts lands a nice uppercut. I was talking to Aerts's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Aerts creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Marin's defenses. Aerts breaks from the clinch.
Aerts tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marin was well out of range. Poor timing from Aerts. Good shot there by Aerts.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aerts digs a good body shot into Marin's ribs. Aerts connects with an inside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aerts throws out a head kick that Marin doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Marin crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Marin's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
That has opened up Rocky Marin's cut even more. Marin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Aerts, right into the meat.
Aerts fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Aerts moves into the clinch. Aerts holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Aerts breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marco Aerts will take that round after scoring the only knockdown of the round. The cut man is working on Rocky Marin's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Aerts misses with a double jab.
Rocky Marin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marin misses with a hook. Aerts ducked under it nicely. Aerts closes the distance and pushes Marin back into the ropes. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Aerts takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Marin managing to block the knees to the body from Aerts.
Marin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Nice body punch from Aerts - that landed with a thud.

and Aerts counters with a stiff right hand. Aerts closes the distance and clinches. Aerts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marin can do to turn this around? Aerts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Aerts is looking to wear down Marin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Aerts has Marin up against the ropes in a clinch.

Marin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A shot in the inside from Aerts. Aerts pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Aerts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Aerts lands a leg kick that knocks Marin off balance momentarily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aerts moves into the clinch successfully.

Marin is trying to push Aerts away but Aerts has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Aerts gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Marco Aerts showed his dominance in that final round. Well Aerts has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
