Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brennan Tierney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dont Lose!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tierney looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lose!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Tierney is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lose wants to control but Tierney postures up.
Lose is being controlled here.
Tierney lands a decent elbow from side control.

Tierney tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tierney has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lose struggling a bit here.

Tierney decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lose throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tierney.
Lose shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tierney but Tierney pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Lose tries to keep at a distance but Tierney has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lose has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tierney uses from the top position.

Tierney wants to pass the guard but Lose is keeping the position.
Lose keeping moving, preventing Tierney from controlling successfully.
Tierney passes into half guard.
Lose tries to roll over but Tierney keeps him under control.

Tierney stands up and beckons Lose to join him on the feet.
Lose tries to clinch up but Tierney circles away and keeps his distance.
Lose shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tierney but Tierney pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tierney trying to control the position but Lose is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tierney postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

You can see the frustration on Lose's face as Tierney controls the position.
Lose is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Tierney trying to control the action but Lose is working from the bottom.
Lose takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tierney tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tierney decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tierney stuffs the takedown.
Lose throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tierney's waist but Tierney gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lose off to one side.
Tierney tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lose manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Tierney shoots for a double leg takedown but Lose sprawls well. He's pushed Tierney's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Tierney tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lose just stands there and leans against the cage.

Tierney has Lose pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tierney pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lose tumbling to the mat - Tierney dives into Lose's guard.
Brennan Tierney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Tierney is stalling in the full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tierney won't allow Lose to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lose will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Tierney wants to control from the top but Lose keeps moving.
Lose really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tierney. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Brennan Tierney wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Lose doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tierney counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Brennan Tierney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dont Lose.
Tierney wants to control but Lose is keeping him busy.

Tierney wants to take a breather but Lose is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tierney is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lose!
Tierney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Lose wants to hold on but Tierney pushes him away.
Tierney controlling from mount.
Tierney punishing his opponent with strikes.

Tierney stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Tierney closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
A lull in the action here as Tierney stalls from top position.
Lose tries to bench press Tierney off him but Tierney keeps the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lose is not content to let Tierney control the position.
Tierney looking to control but instead Lose has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Lose works his way to full guard. Good work.

Lose seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Tierney looking to sit in guard and control but Lose gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Tierney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Tierney shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lose defends it nicely.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tierney.
Lose fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lose darts in looking for a takedown but Tierney gets double underhooks and turns Lose into the cage.

Lose is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tierney is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lose to the mat. Lose regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Lose working for submissions but it's allowed Tierney to get to half guard.
Tierney wants to control but Lose is keeping him busy.

Tierney wants to work for an arm triangle but Lose is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lose wants to get back to his feet.

Tierney is working for a kimura but Lose is defending it quite comfortably.
Lose is holding on to half guard well.

Tierney wants to stand but Lose has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Tierney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lose knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tierney wants to pass the guard but Lose is defending well.
Lose manages to get to full guard.
Tierney trying to control the position from guard on top but Lose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lose is trying to keep Tierney in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tierney closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lose bucks up and tries to throw Tierney off but instead Tierney has got his back!
Will Tierney go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Tierney is looking for the choke from the back position but Lose is controlling his hands well.
Tierney thows a strike but Lose uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Lose as he ends up in Tierney 's guard!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lose trying to control but Tierney is working from the bottom.
Lose is looking to stand up but Tierney won't let him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brennan Tierney showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tierney, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Brennan Tierney was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
