Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bob Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberts Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dutra comes to the cage accompanied by Before i Forget. Junior has chosen Apenas Mais Uma de Amor as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Dutra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roberts Junior! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dutra has his takedown stuffed so Junior counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Junior trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Junior won't allow Dutra to sweep him here. Dutra not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Junior stopping the sweep attempt from Dutra. We've been hearing good reports from Dutra's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Junior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dutra swivels though and keeps the full guard. Junior is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dutra is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dutra has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dutra looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Junior looking for a guillotine here but Dutra defends easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Junior throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Junior throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dutra escapes and throws Junior's legs to the side, diving into side control! Junior is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Junior looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Junior is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dutra is looking for a kimura but Junior is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dutra to get the leverage. Dutra is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Junior looking for submissions off his back. Junior wants to get back to full guard. Junior is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dutra pulls his head out easily. Junior keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Dutra is keen to just control but Junior is a slippery customer. Junior actively working from the bottom here. Dutra looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Dutra works his way into full mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Junior is working to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior gets back to half guard. Dutra seems to be working for a kimura but Junior defends the submission attempt. Junior looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Junior is trying to get back to full guard. Junior actively working from the bottom here. Dutra is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Junior sees it coming and defends easily. Dutra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Dutra is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Junior is just riding it out for now. Dutra eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dutra is looking to take a break and control but Junior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Junior wants to get back to full guard. Junior is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dutra pulls his head out easily. Junior looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Junior looking for submissions from an awkward position here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Junior is pressing down on Dutra's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Junior working for a triangle but Dutra defends it easily.

Roberts Junior dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Junior gets caught napping as Dutra dives in and scores a takedown. Junior manages to retain guard. Dutra avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dutra is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Junior had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dutra defends it easily. Junior bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dutra's guard. Junior drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dutra looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dutra looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dutra! Dutra taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dutra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Junior, who protects the arm well. Junior gets back to half guard. Junior looking for submissions off his back. Dutra seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Junior does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Dutra is looking for a kimura here.
Junior is trying to get back to full guard. Dutra is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Junior is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Dutra looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Junior manages to get to full guard.
Junior is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dutra defends well. Junior looking for subs off his back but Dutra has passed one foot through into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior wants to improve his position but Dutra is controlling well.
Junior actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are battling for position here. Junior manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Dutra got a little sloppy there for a moment and Junior has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dutra has managed to get both his arms back between Junior's legs - danger averted. Dutra passes Junior's left leg - he's now in half guard. Junior slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Junior keeping moving, preventing Dutra from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Junior pushes a forearm under Dutra's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dutra is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
