Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Lawler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Erschov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexei Erschov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Lawler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Erschov!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lawler gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lawler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Erschov knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Erschov missing with punches from the bottom.
Erschov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Erschov flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Lawler controlling the action here.
Lawler slips a nice elbow through Erschov's hands, connecting with Erschov's forehead.

Erschov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lawler pulls his head out easily.
Erschov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lawler is working away from the top position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alexei Erschov.

Lawler has Erschov up against the cage in a clinch.
Erschov fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Erschov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lawler is defending well.

Ricky Lawler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexei Erschov.
Erschov goes for a takedown attempt but Lawler pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Erschov has taken the fight to the clinch.

Lawler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lawler blocks a head kick by Erschov.
Lawler misses with a series of wild punches.
Lawler lands with a kick to the temple. Erschov shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Lawler counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lawler circles away from the clinch attempt.
Erschov doesn't manage to clinch there - Lawler circles away.
A head kick misses from Erschov.

Lawler looking to score a takedown here. Erschov is defending well but Lawler drives through and ends up in Erschov's guard.

Erschov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Erschov wants to stand but Lawler is controlling the position.
Erschov looks winded!

Erschov tries to strike from the bottom.
Lawler is looking to stand up but Erschov won't let him.

Erschov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lawler stacks Erschov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lawler!
Erschov parries the strikes from Lawler easily there. Lawler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Erschov to escape.
Erschov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lawler stands up.

Erschov moves into range and clinches up with Lawler.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lawler is trying to trip Erschov. He has hold of a leg but Erschov is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lawler persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lawler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Erschov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lawler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Erschov lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lawler!
Erschov misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lawler is looking to get to half guard.
Erschov throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Lawler can't escape the position.

Erschov has hold of Lawler's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lawler manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Lawler dominated that round.

Erschov fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lawler throws a head kick but Erschov moves out of range.
Erschov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lawler looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Erschov!
Erschov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Erschov is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Erschov strikes from the bottom but Lawler passes into mount!
Lawler knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Erschov on the ground.
Lawler looking to control but Erschov is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lawler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lawler lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Erschov hang on?

Erschov wants to hold on but Lawler pushes him away.

Lawler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Erschov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lawler has managed to get both his arms back between Erschov's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Erschov wants to get back to his feet but Lawler is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lawler engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Erschov keeping moving, preventing Lawler from controlling successfully.

We're going to have a standup here because Ricky Lawler wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Erschov tries to clinch up.

Erschov closes the distance and clinches.

Lawler breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Erschov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lawler is fending him off so far but Erschov persists. Nope, Lawler circles away and we're back to standing.

Lawler shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Erschov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Erschov can't keep his opponent in guard - Lawler advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lawler seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Erschov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Lawler is really struggling to control Erschov but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Erschov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lawler pulls his head out easily.

Lawler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lawler tries to pass to full mount but Erschov defends it.
Erschov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lawler prevents Erschov from improving his position.
We've been hearing that Lawler has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Erschov has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Lawler. Oh but Erschov has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Lawler goes limp - he's gone! Erschov jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Alexei Erschov!
